Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in performing arts (now known as Maureen O'Hara), would have placed her, at least in the eyes of America, into the child prodigy category. A child of Irish roots, surrounded as she was by gifted parents and family members, this came naturally. Maureen entered this caring haven on August 17, 1920 located in Ranelagh (a suburb in Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita FitzSimons' mother, Lilburn, was an contralto. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman from Dublin who also owned a piece of the Irish Shamrock Rovers soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons was the daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed this lovely family. Maureen was a fan of rough sports as a kid and was very adept at them. In addition to this she was gifted to act. In the end, she was awarded almost all of the Feis Awards for acting and dramatic performances in her home country. When she turned 14, she was admitted into the world-renowned Abbey Theater and pursued her dreams of classical theatre and operatic singing.
